Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of medical office experience preferred.
• MS Office proficiency and ability to learn; experience with EMR systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with office equipment (scanners, printers, phones, credit card machines).

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients in a courteous and professional manner in face-to-face encounters and via the telephone.
• Promotes the Team-Based Care Model by participating in daily huddles and monthly care team meetings.
• Checks in patients for appointments and verifies demographics and insurance; notifies staff of arrival.
• Facilitates verification of patients’ insurance and documents on patient page; contacts billing if needed.
• Scans immunization records and maintains patient records and visit summaries.
• Checks out patients, schedules follow-ups, and collects surveys.
• Performs mailings of lab results and transfer forms as needed.
• Assists with Reduced Fee applications and ensures process compliance.
• Maintains neat, accurate documentation in patient charts.
• Manages cash drawer, receipts, and daily financial reconciliation.
