Job summary

Shields Health Care Group is seeking a Patient Care Representative to deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, efficiency and accuracy. You will greet patients, collect copays, explain consent forms, and assist with iPad check-in to ensure smooth patient flow.

This role collaborates with technologists and radiologists, upholds HIPAA privacy, processes mail, prepares the next day’s schedule, and supports onboarding. Pay ranges from $17–$29 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
• Attention to detail and typing accuracy.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to multi task and exceed customer expectations.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data entry and intake.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and collect copay/deductible/co-insurance and explain consent forms.
• Assist patients with iPad check-in and troubleshoot as needed.
• Recognize when language services are required and assist accordingly.
• Maintain HIPAA and Patient Privacy Policy while distributing films/CDs.
• Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
• Process outgoing and incoming mail and deliveries (UPS).
• Prepare setup for next day’s schedule and flag potential issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer groups.
• Enter information into systems accurately and promptly.
• Respond to scheduling emergencies and support as needed.
• Support Customer Care with machine utilization using templates.
• Address patient and doctor concerns professionally and precisely.
• Keep management informed of issues impacting operations.
• Stay updated on policy changes affecting daily work.
