Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in New York is seeking a Nursing Attendant to join a patient-care team. You will assist with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, and comfort, helping to maintain a safe, clean environment and support nursing staff.

The role involves transporting patients, answering calls, observing patients, and documenting observations per policy. Strong English communication and a high school diploma or equivalent are required, with BLS and infection control basics training

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Graduate of State Certified Program or 1 year clinical experience with nursing students/foreign grads.
• BLS certification required.
• OHS Fit Test
• OHS Annual Assessment

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, ambulating) as appropriate for patient age.
• Meets hygiene and grooming needs of patients.
• Assists with mobility and transfers, using safe patient handling.
• Maintains patient skin integrity and uses pressure-relief devices as needed.
• Provides patient comfort: positioning, bed making, and comfort measures.
• Answers call bells promptly and informs RN of changes in condition.
