Job summary

The attendant will document vitals, assist with procedures, and help prepare patients for surgery as needed, ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Graduate of a state-certified nursing program or equivalent.
• 1–3 years clinical experience as a nursing student or foreign graduate nurse are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance/supervision during activities of daily living for patients as appropriate.
• Meets hygiene and grooming needs, including bathing, grooming and oral care.
• Maintains mobility through range of motion, ambulation, and transfers as needed.
• Maintains skin integrity with turning and positioning; uses support devices.
• Offers patient comfort measures, bed making and proper positioning.
• Assists with elimination needs and manages urinary catheter care as needed.
• Ensures a safe environment; responds to call bells and follows safety policies.
• Records vital signs and reports variations to the RN; documents findings.
• Transports patients to procedures and to other hospital areas; assists with admissions.
• Introduces self to patients and families; supports unit team activities.
