Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support RNs in daily patient care. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and monitoring, ensuring comfort and safety across age groups.

You will document vitals in EMR, participate in admissions and discharges, and help with specimen collection, transport, and stock management. The role requires CNA certification and BLS; on-boarding includes safety training.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care: bathing, feeding, mobility, and transfers as directed.
• Measure and document vitals (BP, HR, RR), intake/output, weight, and data in EMR.
• Conduct purposeful rounding and communicate patient/family needs to RN; document observations.
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharges; prepare rooms and manage patient belongings.
• Collect urine/stool/sputum and perform point-of-care testing with proper labeling.
• Run errands, stock nursing areas, and clean equipment and workspaces.
• Assist with positioning, transfers, diet setup, and skin care; provide TED hose when needed.
• May remove IVs, assist post-mortem care, and perform bladder scans as directed.
• Follow infection prevention: hand hygiene, PPE, and sterile/aseptic practices.
• Care for patients across age groups, recognizing age-specific needs.
