Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support RNs with daily patient care in a Milwaukee setting. You will document vitals, assist with mobility and daily tasks, and help with admissions, discharges, and room setup.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer skills and be able to document clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and team members.
• Strong organization and prioritization abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Measure and document vitals and intake/output; record accurately in EMR.
• Perform rounding and promptly communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; set up rooms and manage belongings.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed; maintain specimen labeling.
• Run errands, stock nursing areas, and clean equipment and work areas.
• Assist with patient positioning and transportation; help with nutrition-related tasks.
• Maintain skin integrity and proper use of compression devices as directed.
• Under RN direction, may remove IVs, assist with post-mortem care, and bladder scans.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including hand hygiene and sterile technique.
• Ensure care aligns with age-specific patient needs and department policies.
