Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month.
• Billing systems and third-party claims experience in a medical setting.
• Customer service experience in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance information from patients and counsel on financial assistance.
• Register all new patients and assist with form completion.
• Review schedule for new patients and update as needed.
• Call patients with appointment reminders and collect insurance details.
• Explain billing processes to patients and respond to inquiries from patients and payers.
• Explain billing processes to staff; assist with basic account maintenance activities.
• Assist patients with questions about the billing process.
• Assist staff with sending reminder cards and scheduling duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
