Job summary

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is seeking an Account Representative for Patient Financial Services to support families through the collection process and ensure timely resolution of questions and concerns.

You will work with families, CMS rules, and payers to finalize claims, maintain data accuracy, and provide exceptional service while contributing to process improvements. Prior hospital billing/collection experience is preferred.

• License/certification: None
• Minimum work experience: Hospital billing and collection experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Answers calls promptly and addresses families' questions or concerns, documenting delays and actions.
• Notifies management of collection issues to ensure timely corrections.
• Keeps up to date with insurer requirements for proper handoffs to collectors.
• Maintains notes on all accounts and ensures confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Coordinates with ancillary departments to ensure smooth revenue cycle processes.
