Job summary

El Paso Children’s Hospital Corporation seeks an experienced Patient Accounts Clerk who works under the supervision of the Patient Accounts Supervisor to manage the full lifecycle of patient accounts. Responsibilities include billing, collections and timely reconciliation with third-party coverage.

The role requires healthcare business office experience, Medicare/Medicaid billing knowledge, and Excel proficiency, with strong data entry and communication skills expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months health care business office experience or related health care experience.
• Medical billing, collections and/or managed care terminology required.
• High School education or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Total patient account management including billing, collections and reconciliation with third-party coverage.
• Ensure charity allowances and/or other coverage are applied as appropriate in line with payor contracts.
• Bill secondary insurance timely and assign accounts to bad debt when required.
