Zusammenfassung

Access Community Health Network is seeking a Patient Benefit Specialist to work directly with patients to explain insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and payment options. You will help assess eligibility for healthcare programs and support navigation of the revenue cycle to improve access to care.

You may conduct benefit screening, verify coverage, enroll patients, and document accurately in the EHR while staying updated on Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace, and HMO rules.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
• Prior experience with All Kids and Moms & Babies (MPE) programs preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace and HMO regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially EPIC, preferred.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Aufgaben

• Explain benefit programs and financial responsibilities; obtain necessary forms, documents, and signatures.
• Screen patients for healthcare benefits, eligibility for grants, and available options; explain choices.
• Verify existing third-party coverage and identify benefits and gaps for patients.
• Assist with program enrollment based on financial assessment results and options.
• Enter and update benefit data in the EHR; ensure accuracy and 100% compliance.
• Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace, HMO rules and regulations.
• Assist patients with Medicaid applications and annual redetermination.
• Coordinate with providers and care team; advocate for patients and families.
• Support revenue cycle navigation and provide warm hand-offs when out of scope.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; de-escalate concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
