Job summary

Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA) is seeking a Patient Benefits Specialist to promote enrollment in health coverage options. You will educate patients on available plans during clinic visits and outreach events, aiming to determine eligibility and enroll them in options such as L&I, ACP, Medicaid/Medicare, and the Marketplace.

You will document patient encounters in the management system daily, respond to inquiries within 3 hours or next business day, and support plan switches when

Qualifications

• Basic written and verbal communication skills as part of daily tasks.
• Ability to learn and understand health care plans available to patients (e.g., L&I, ACP, Medicaid/Medicare, Marketplace).
• Navigator certification can be obtained and maintained for WA Health Exchange.
• Proficiency with basic MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documents and reports.

Responsibilities

• Promote and educate patients on health coverage options in clinics and outreach events.
• Inform patients about plan requirements to determine eligibility and enroll in options like L&I, ACP, Medicaid/Medicare, Marketplace.
• Complete health coverage applications per plan requirements and submit before patient visit ends.
