Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, based in Omaha, seeks a Patient Benefits Coordinator to help patients obtain health insurance and related resources. You will assist with applications, renewals, and required documentation, and explain coverage to patients across all clinics.

You will coordinate with Patient Access, billing, and other staff to resolve coverage questions and maintain accurate benefits information in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in health or related field required.
• Two years of experience in Medical Insurance/Benefits required.
• Knowledge of eligibility policies and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefits outreach and education to patients and eligible community members with primary responsibility at the Omaha clinic.
• Assist patients with applications, renewals, and required documentation for health coverage.
• Explain coverage and benefits to patients and coordinate with staff to support access to services.
• Verify and maintain benefits data in the EHR and other systems.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve coverage concerns and improve workflows.
