Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Patient Benefit Coordinator (PBC) to assist patients and families with accessing financial resources and insurance benefits. The PBC will communicate with the billing and clinic departments, explain policies, and help secure financial clearance for admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities include creating procedure estimates, collecting payments, negotiating arrangements, and coordinating with state/federal agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the insurance industry (private or government).
• Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration may be substituted for experience.
• Preferred: filing Public Assistance Applications (Medicaid) and/or DCF experience.
• Preferred: interviewing and/or collections experience.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients and families in accessing financial resources and benefits.
• Explain and advise on insurance benefits and Social Security/Medicaid policies.
• Create estimates of financial liability and collect payments; negotiate payment arrangements.
• Act as advocate between billing, clinic departments, and outside agencies to secure financial clearance for admission or discharge.
