Job summary

Qualifications

• One year medical office experience in a Medical Center or similar setting required.
• Phone, listening, and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups.
• Windows PC and Internet experience is required.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and cover coworker duties as needed.
• Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Windows in a technology driven organization.
• Willingness to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MyMichigan Health.

Responsibilities

• Obtain necessary data elements (demographic) to schedule appointment and enter the information into the scheduling system.
• Create a pre-registration for each scheduled visit including capture of insurance and financial information.
• Verify insurance using online electronic verification system or by contacting payer directly. Confirm eligibility of benefits such as coverage limits and effective dates.
• Collaborate with the physician offices to secure authorization, pre-certification and/or notification when necessary.
