Job summary

Conifer Health in Detroit is seeking a senior Patient Access Supervisor to mentor staff, manage daily workflows and ensure compliance with hospital policies. You will oversee Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department and clinic processes, drive performance metrics, and support the management team in achieving operational goals in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• College degree preferred.
• 2 or 4 year degree in Business, Accounting, Medical Administration or related area preferred.
• 4 plus years experience in medical facility, health insurance, or related area
• 5 plus years experience in Patient Access preferred
• 2 plus years in supervisory or lead role preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides daily support/mentoring/training to new hires as well as existing Patient Access staff.
• Assists in preparation for short and long range planning for Registration Process areas including Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, ED and clinics.
• Maintains positive customer service and assists staff in resolving issues.
• Enforces departmental policies, practices, procedures and work rules per hospital and department guidelines; assists in developing new policies.
• Monitors daily activity and completes performance/metric reports; can perform special projects and reporting.
• Performs all Patient Access functions as needed.
• Works with management to ensure the group meets operational goals.
