Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Supervisor of Patient Access Services to oversee frontline registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance in the Emergency Department during evening full-time hours. The role reports to the Manager of Patient Access Services and focuses on operational efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring staff performance, coaching, ensuring HIPAA compliance, coordinating with clinical units, and maintaining service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access, registration, or front-end revenue cycle operations within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Maintain working knowledge of registration processes, insurance verification, and financial clearance workflows.
• Support compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
