Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Supervisor of Patient Access Services for the Emergency Department. This full-time role provides day-to-day oversight of frontline Patient Access staff, ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance to support a positive patient experience.

You will coach staff, manage onboarding, enforce HIPAA, and collaborate with hospital units. EPIC experience and familiarity with unionized environments are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access, registration, or front-end revenue cycle operations within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Basic leadership or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality, provide feedback and coaching.
• Escalate issues to the Manager; assist with staffing and coverage.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
• Support onboarding, training, and development of staff; handle performance management.
• Collaborate with clinical units and departments to resolve access-related issues.
