Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced supervisor for Patient Access to support registration and staffing. You will help manage performance, train registrars, and ensure accurate timekeeping and reporting while maintaining strong patient service standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare billing or patient access, with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Background in patient access and health insurance is required.
• Experience in healthcare billing, follow-up, and certification is preferred.
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manager, Director, AVP in meeting performance goals for Patient Access Departments.
• Train registrars in all areas of patient access.
• Provide guidance and feedback on employee performance through rounding, auditing and screening of registration work and various computer reports.
• Registers and pre-registers patients as necessary to support the team.
• Assist Manager with the appropriate staffing of Patient Access areas.
• Assist Manager with completion of performance appraisals prior to due date.
• Review and assure that employee time is recorded accurately per policy.
• Maintain departmental records on attendance, counseling, and notable actions.
• Represent Patient Access and Patient Financial Services on operational issues.
• Manage daily cash handling and valuables, including audits.
• Produce various reports for the manager.
• Coordinate with other departments impacted by Patient Access processes.
