Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record to foundation patient medical records for the care team.
• Checks in and registers patients; verifies demographics, insurance, and collects required payments.
• Discusses financial obligations with patients; refers to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and other regulations; obtains signatures as required.
• Provides information to patients about test preparations, arrival times, and directions to the facility.
• Greets patients and visitors and delivers professional customer service; answers calls and assists with inquiries.
• Monitors and manages electronic health record work queues according to department process.
