Job summary

Mount Sinai South Nassau is seeking a part-time, weekend-days Supervisor of Patient Access Services to oversee front-line staff across hospital service areas, including Emergency Department and Admitting. You will ensure accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while maintaining high patient experience standards.

The role reports to the Manager and involves coaching, scheduling, and coordinating with HR and Labor Relations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Patient Access or hospital registration.
• Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Experience in a unionized healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality; provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Escalate issues to the Manager; assist with staffing coverage.
• Ensure compliance with payer requirements and HIPAA standards.
• Supervise frontline Patient Access representatives, including scheduling and performance feedback.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff; reinforce AIDET and registration accuracy.
• Communicate updates from leadership to staff; coordinate with clinical units to resolve issues.
