Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Supervisor, Patient Access Services in the Admitting Department for full-time evenings. The role oversees frontline access staff, ensures accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance, and supports a positive patient experience across hospital locations.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, maintaining HIPAA compliance, coordinating with departments, and guiding workflow to meet payer and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access or hospital registration in a healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate issues to Manager as appropriate and assist with staffing coverage.
• Ensure compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Supervise frontline Patient Access representatives, including scheduling and performance feedback.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff in collaboration with leadership.
• Maintain effective working relationships with Human Resources and Labor Relations.
