The Supervisor, Patient Access oversees the accuracy and performance of registration, admissions, patient estimates, and authorization processes. This role monitors registration-related errors, denial trends, and performs daily audits to identify issues, support staff accountability, and improve front-end revenue cycle outcomes. The role supports daily operations of Patient Access functions, including workforce and work queue management. Duties include, but are not limited to, training employees, conducting re-training sessions, reviewing competencies with staff, implementing policy and procedure changes, monitoring work to ensure quality and service standards are met, completing performance appraisals, conducting staff meetings, implementing performance improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned.
The supervisor also serves as on-call/ back-up support for other Patient Access functions as needed (including alternating weekends for ER Registration/Inpatient Admissions) and may fulfill or back up other Patient Access functions, including scheduling, admissions, and ER registration, based on operational need.
