Job summary

Springfield Clinic seeks a Patient Access Specialist to be the welcoming entry point for guests. You will answer calls, verify patient data, schedule appointments, and collect payments while coordinating with Care Teams to ensure smooth flow.

Responsibilities include enrolling patients in the FMH portal, balancing receipts, and maintaining data integrity in the EHR. A CMAA exam eligibility opportunity is available within 1 year.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Preferred: 2-3 years of college.
• Preferred: Minimum one year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, identify caller needs, route call to appropriate area and take messages as required.
• Assist guests with the check-in process, verify demographic and insurance information, and update as needed.
• Proactively assists guests, Care Team members, and all team members providing information, direction and hospitality.
• Assist guests in enrolling in the FollowMyHealth portal and educate them on how to use the portal.
• Collect patient payments and provide accurate receipt; reconcile receipts with cash and forms.
• Schedule appointments for the provider according to procedures; analyze availability for guest demand.
• Document guest requests to the Care Team through EHR.
• Route emergency calls to the Care Team or TeleNurse per procedure.
• Drive First Call Resolution on every inquiry by completing necessary outreach.
• Adhere to patient service standards and maintain a welcoming front desk/call center atmosphere.
