Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Patient Access Specialist (PAS) to be the welcoming heart of the building, managing calls, check-in, and first-point interactions with guests and families. You will educate patients on the FMH portal, verify demographics and insurance, and coordinate with Care Teams to ensure accurate data and smooth scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in a medical office is preferred.
• Comfortable with technology and office software.
• Administrative or technical background preferred (2–3 years college).
• Minimum one year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, identify needs, route calls and take messages.
• Verify demographics and insurance; assist with check-in and accuracy.
• Educate guests on FollowMyHealth portal and assist enrollment.
• Schedule appointments and maximize provider utilization.
• Collect payments and reconcile receipts per procedure.
• Document guest requests in the EHR and track follow-ups.
• Maintain front desk and call center service standards.
• Collaborate with Care Team to ensure smooth guest flow.
• Route emergencies per policy and pursue First Call Resolution.
