Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to greet guests, answer calls, verify demographics and insurance, enroll patients in the FMH portal, collect payments, and schedule appointments. Eligible CMAA exam within 1 year, High School diploma preferred, and comfort with technology.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Preferred: Administrative or technical background from 2–3 years of college.
• Preferred: Minimum one year medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, identify caller needs, route to appropriate area and take messages.
• Assist guests with check-in, verify demographic and insurance information, and update as needed.
• Proactively assist guests and Care Team members with information and hospitality.
• Assist guests in enrolling in the FollowMyHealth (FMH) portal and educate them on its use.
• Collect patient payments and provide receipts; reconcile receipts with cash.
• Schedule provider appointments according to procedures and maximize schedule utilization.
• Document guest requests in the EHR and work related office reports.
