Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure a welcoming, efficient registration experience across in-person, phone, and electronic channels. You will handle patient information, co-payments, and insurance verification, while protecting privacy and supporting accurate reimbursement.

In a fast-paced environment, you will work with scheduling staff and clinical departments, guiding patients through forms, ABNs, and consent documents.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or equivalent; assoc. degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience; computer systems skills including web-based apps and MS Office.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with independent decision-making.
• Familiar with EHR software and medical terminology; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits and explains the process.
• Processes co-payments, deductibles, and balances; reconciles cash drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage.
• Obtains signatures on forms; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services; ABNs and waivers.
