Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of related work experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based apps and Microsoft Office.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with good decision-making.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; bilingual communication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients presenting for visits and explain the process.
• Process co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguard cash and receipts.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust coverage as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent/financial forms and scan/record documents.
• Counsel patients on non-covered services and ABNs; ensure confidentiality and security.
• Maintain smooth registration flow and patient waiting area, addressing delays and safety concerns.
• Schedule patient appointments by phone or digital messaging; verify key information.
• Identify issues impacting timeliness of appointments and escalate as needed.
• Pre-register patients by capturing and verifying required information for reimbursement.
