Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Patient Access Representative to support registration and scheduling across our system. You will handle patient questions, verify insurance, collect payments, and maintain confidential records in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with EHR software, strong communication, and the ability to work in a team are essential. Training is provided and opportunities to grow within the BILH System Services team are available.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years related work experience in healthcare admin or call center.
• Experience with computer systems including web apps and Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for visits; explains the registration process and answers questions.
• Processes co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; reconcile cash drawer daily.
• Instructs patients and obtains signatures on consent/financial forms; scans documents.
• Counsels patients on non-covered services and ABNs; safeguards confidential information.
• Monitors waiting area; ensures smooth registration flow and good patient experience.
• Initiates scheduling by prioritizing calls, messages, and orders; verifies required information.
• Identifies and communicates issues impacting timeliness or accuracy of appointments.
