Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our fast-paced System Services team. You will support registration, scheduling, and financial clearance, ensuring a welcoming patient experience while protecting confidentiality and safety.

The role requires strong communication, accuracy with demographics and insurance data, and proficiency with EHR systems. Training is provided, and opportunities to grow within a collaborative health system.

Qualifications

• Call center and/or telephone customer service experience.
• Strong typing skills 40+ wpm.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with EHR Software.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes patient co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; reconciles cash drawer daily.
• Completes the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts patient coverage.
• Instructs patients on consent forms and signatures; distributes documents to patients; scans and records receipts.
• Counsels patients regarding non-covered services; obtains signatures on ABNs, consents and waivers.
• Monitors waiting area for a smooth registration flow and informs patients of delays.
• Responds to patient concerns and safety issues; adheres to confidentiality and safety procedures.
• Pre-Registration and scheduling information capture and verification.
