Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Patient Access Center Representative to schedule appointments, register patients, and verify insurance accuracy. You will act as the front door for patients, handling calls and in-person visits with a patient-centered approach.

The role requires strong communication, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to navigate multiple systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and timely service delivery. On-site work with hospital-based teams is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years healthcare or call center experience or completion of Houston Methodist Call Center Apprenticeship in lieu of years of experience.
• Healthcare setting knowledge and medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent telephone and in-person communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with scheduling and registration for services.
• Verify patient insurance and collect data for financial clearance.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure timely appointments.
