Job summary

Academic Medical Group Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist 1 to guide patients through the visit process, collecting demographic, clinical, and insurance data for accurate accounts. You will screen eligibility, prepare information for staff, and support scheduling with care teams.

You will resolve access barriers, answer basic questions, and document communications across multiple channels in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and records demographic, clinical, and insurance information to generate patient accounts.
• Screens patients for eligibility and prepares information for clinical staff.
• Answers questions to ensure a smooth visit experience and schedule activities.
• Manages scheduling requests, reschedules or cancels appointments, and coordinates with care teams.
• Verifies medical insurance eligibility and reviews referrals for accurate scheduling.
• Troubleshoots access barriers and provides essential information per internal knowledge base.
