Job summary

USA Health in Mobile seeks a Care Access Associate to serve as the primary clerical role in the practice, handling appointment reminders, rescheduling no-shows, and verifying demographic and insurance information for billing.

You will work with payers to determine in-network status, assist with copays, prepare charts, greet patients, document interactions in the medical record, and ensure accurate coding and timely follow-up.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of clerical experience in an access center, customer service, or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
  • Completion of higher level of education as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama will substitute for the required experience. Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Care Access Associate calls patients to remind them of scheduled appointments, reschedule 'no show' appointments and verify demographic information for billing purposes.
  • Prepare charts and encounter tickets for scheduled clinics in accordance with written policies and guidelines.
  • Greets patients in a friendly manner and documents all patient interactions in the medical record.
  • Obtains and verifies demographic and insurance information at the time of service.
  • Verifies insurance and documents information for billing purposes.
  • Checks patients into clinic and out with follow-up visits booked as required.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality and maintains medical records.
