Job summary

SCA Health in Seattle is seeking an Admission Representative Clerk to manage patient registration and scheduling. You will serve as a patient advocate, coordinating with surgeons, staff and patients throughout the clinic experience.

Responsibilities include answering calls, registering patients, scheduling in the EHR, verifying insurance, maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA, and supporting smooth patient flow with strong communication in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
• 4-5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries or route calls appropriately, interacts with patients in a courteous and professional manner.
• Register patients accurately, including demographic, insurance, and contact information.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the clinic's electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and data entry.
• Handle patient complaints or concerns with empathy and elevate when necessary.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Maintains safe work practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
