Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a patient registration representative for the Pocono area. You will coordinate patient interviews, verify insurance, and schedule appointments to ensure smooth financial clearance.

The role requires excellent communication, computer skills, and the ability to work with diverse patients. Onsite work with day shifts and rotating Saturdays is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience or one year in a healthcare environment (hospital or physician office).
• Ability to interact with a diverse patient base, including Emergency Department patients.
• Proficiency with computers and typing.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographic, insurance (referral/authorization), and other information.
• Engage patients throughout the registration process to create a welcoming experience in person or by phone.
• Ensure referring providers' orders are complete and match the appointment.
• Obtain a new order prior to tests or treatments if incomplete or inaccurate.
• Scan insurance cards, prescriptions, patient IDs, and required forms accurately.
• Secure signatures to ensure timely reimbursement and consents as needed.
• Determine and collect patient financial liability and create estimates if applicable.
• Refer patients to financial resources for assistance with counseling.
• Review daily schedule for conflicts and coordinate with colleagues and providers for resolution.
• Maintain accuracy of registration data and processes.
