Job summary

You will be part of a fast-paced Patient Access team within the System Services group and will use electronic health records to support enrollment and scheduling.

The role includes processing co-pays and insurance data, assisting with scheduling, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years related work experience. Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients presenting for visits and explains the registration process.
• Processes patient payments including co-pays and balances; safeguards cash and reconciles cash drawer.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjusts coverage as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent and financial documents; scans and records documents.
• Counsels patients regarding non-covered services and ABNs; secures necessary signatures.
• Monitors waiting area for smooth flow and maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Maintains neat registration desk and protects confidential patient data.
• Handles scheduling via multiple sources and verifies insurance and demographics.
