Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience.
• High school education preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Able to accurately enter and interpret data.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in person or by telephone in a respectful and empathetic manner.
• Comply with HIPAA and EMTALA regulations.
• Interview patients to obtain demographic and payer information to schedule or pre-register/register.
• Collect payments and provide receipts.
• Verify third party payer information via the web or telephone.
• Document activities in the hospital system and QA notes.
• Obtain necessary consents and assist with Living Will documents when appropriate.
• Direct families to the appropriate location and provide clear guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle multiple tasks under deadlines.
