Job summary

Nicklaushealth is seeking a Clerical/Administrative professional to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and schedule or admit patients in a hospital setting.

The role involves verifying payer information, obtaining necessary authorizations, and documenting activities. Strong Spanish language skills and English proficiency are preferred, with attention to confidentiality and accuracy in data entry.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience.
• Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred.
• One year of experience working with medical terminology, procedures, diagnosis codes, and insurance strongly preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Able to accurately enter and interpret data.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in person or on the telephone and assist with registration.
• Collect demographic, payer, financial, and medical information to schedule or admit.
• Verify third-party payer information and obtain appropriate authorization.
• Document activities in the computer system and QA notes.
• Direct families to appropriate services and collect payments as required.
• Notify management of discrepancies and coordinate with departments on issues.
