Qualifications

• Certification in Patient Access is preferred but not required.
• Experience in healthcare settings, especially patient registration or insurance verification, is preferred.
• Experience with EHR and scheduling software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify personal, financial, and insurance information for accuracy.
• Input demographic and insurance details into the EHR system.
• Ensure all forms are completed accurately and timely.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility before appointments.
• Obtain prior authorizations for procedures as required by insurers.
• Resolve discrepancies in insurance or coverage information with patients or insurers.
• Schedule patient appointments based on physician availability and patient needs.
• Provide patients with pre-appointment instructions and information.
• Inform patients about co-pays, deductibles, and insurance benefits before service.
• Assist patients with payment options and financial assistance programs.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and collaborate with clinical staff.
