Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Fluency in English; Spanish preferred in specific settings.
• Two years of hospital/healthcare registration, billing, or insurance experience.
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and email.
• Typing 45 wpm or higher.
• Excellent telephone customer service, interpersonal skills, problem solving and organization.
• Willingness to transport patients by wheelchair.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information for all patients during registration.
• Communicate financial/insurance information to case management and financial counseling staff as appropriate.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies.
• May enter laboratory and radiology orders when necessary.
• Minimize financial risk by verifying information, obtaining signatures and patient payments at or prior to service.
