Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a Patient Access Advocate I to handle primary registration of patient accounts, verify insurance, collect at the point of service, and document in the ADT system for scheduled and unscheduled visits. You will support patient navigation, explain benefits and liabilities, and ensure accurate information for clean billing.

A HS diploma or GED is required; healthcare or customer service experience is preferred; CHAA/CHAM or similar

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of healthcare experience or one year of customer service.
• CHAA/CHAM or similar certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance, medical terminology, billing codes, and registration processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Addresses and attempts to resolve complaints in the moment using key words and de-escalation.
• Manage conflicts and request supervisor help when needed.
• Educates patients about insurance benefits and liabilities at time of service.
• Ensures accounts are financially cleared at time of service through account review.
