Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque is seeking a Patient Access Advocate I for PRESNow Paseo. This role handles primary registration of patient accounts, insurance verification, and collection of point-of-service liabilities at the time of service for scheduled and unscheduled visits.

Responsibilities include providing excellent patient service, using CARES, AIDET and EPE tools, and ensuring accurate registration data in the ADT system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months healthcare setting experience or 1 year of customer service experience.
• Pass 2-week Patient Access Academy with a score of 85% or higher (within 6 months of start).
• CHAA/CHAM or other industry equivalent certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance and medical terminology/billing codes (DRG, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
• Strong keyboarding skills and data entry proficiency.
• Must pass EPIC proficiency test with 85%.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for scheduled and unscheduled visits and verify demographics.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect point-of-service liabilities.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist with wayfinding for patients/families.
• Educate patients about benefits and billing.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at time of service.
