Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Patient Access Advocate I for the Albuquerque area. The role focuses on primary registration of patient accounts for self-pay, government and commercial payers at the point of service, including demographics, insurance verification, and billing data accuracy.

Responsibilities include delivering excellent patient service, guiding patients, and ensuring compliant and complete registration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months in healthcare or 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Complete Patient Access Academy with 85% or higher within 6 months of start.
• CHAA/CHAM or equivalent certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance and medical terminology preferred.
• Pass EPIC proficiency test with 85% score.

Responsabilités

• Register patients and collect demographic/financial information accurately.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; collect at point of service.
• Explain insurance benefits and patient liabilities to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient registration system and ensure data quality.
