Candidates should have a high school diploma; associate's or bachelor's degree can substitute for two years of experience. Base pay ranges $20.24–$30.25 hourly with benefits and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Customer Service or Data Entry experience (2 years required).
• Proficient keyboarding skills (preferred).
• Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology (preferred).
• Interpersonal skills and proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and select the correct record during registration.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register for the appropriate service.
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs; enter data into the EHR.
• Explain and complete regulatory and compliance documents; collect co-pays and balances.
• Greet patients and families; answer questions; ensure arrival to the service area.
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties; provide updates to families.
