Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Representative I for on-site duties in Williamsburg, VA. You will register patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and coordinate with clinical staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of customer service or data entry experience. Familiarity with ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology is preferred. Training is provided.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience
• Customer Service OR Data Entry - 2 years (Required)
• Proficiency in keyboarding (Preferred)
• Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology (Preferred)
• Interpersonal skills; proper grammar, spelling and punctuation

Aufgaben

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting the correct patient record
• Review schedules and physician orders to register for the appropriate service
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs and enter demographics and insurance in the EHR
• Explain and complete regulatory and privacy documents; collect co-pays and balances
• Greet patients and families; answer questions and guide to service areas
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties; provide updates to families in waiting rooms
