Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a dedicated Patient Access professional for a Regular Full time, Day shift position. You will greet patients, perform registration, verify insurance, and support the patient flow with attention to accuracy and privacy. Epic system experience is preferred, and benefits will align with the role.

Base pay ranges from $33.20 to $36.94 per hour, with eligibility for additional benefits. Final compensation may reflect scope, experience, and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, staff, and other customers across in-person and telephone interactions.
• Schedule, Pre-Registration & Registration for patients in person and by phone using Epic, following established workflows.
• Collect, review, and document demographics, insurance information, and required forms with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, staff, and other customers across in-person and telephone interactions.
• Create a welcoming experience by actively listening, communicating clearly, managing expectations, and addressing routine questions or concerns within the scope of the role.
• Protect patient privacy and handle sensitive information with discretion in accordance with confidentiality practices.
• Serve as a Greeter at Welcome kiosks and direct patients and visitors to the appropriate destination or resource.
• Schedule, Pre-Registration & Registration using Epic and ensure accurate demographics and registrations.
