Job summary

Stanford Medicine Partners is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to manage a high-volume mix of inbound and outbound calls, faxes and referrals, coordinating care for patients across SMP departments.

Under supervision, the PAR I performs clerical and patient care tasks, registers patients, updates records, verifies insurance, and uses EHR to communicate with clinicians, delivering compassionate service aligned with C-I-CARE.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• One year or more of customer service in medical office, insurance, or client services environment.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls and referrals to coordinate care.
• Register new patients and update existing patient accounts in a courteous and professional manner.
• Verify insurance information and reference CMS/clinic policies.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and deliver high levels of customer service.
