Qualifications

• Performs clerical and patient care duties to assist practitioners and staff.
• Under trainee designation, mentor sign-off is required for some activities.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and others entering the department courteously.
• Registers new patients and updates accounts.
• Identifies insurance plans and referrals; updates information as needed.
• Determines co-payments, records payments, and handles IDs and cards.
• Obtains consent from patients.
• Resolves system red flags as they appear.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and communicates next steps.
