Job summary

Stanford Medicine Partners is hiring a Patient Access Representative (PAR) to handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, faxes, and referrals. You will coordinate care, verify insurance, and assist patients with appointments in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Under general supervision, you will learn and apply C-I-CARE standards, document encounters in the EHR, and support practitioners and staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• One (1) year or more of customer service in medical office, insurance, or client services environment.
• One (1) year or more of call center, and/or patient access experience preferred.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients, schedule appointments and updates existing patient accounts in a courteous and professional manner.
• Identifies accepted insurance plans and those requiring referrals, obtains and updates insurance information.
• Responds to a high-volume of incoming and outgoing telephone calls and faxed referrals to coordinate care.
• Delivers basic knowledge regarding clinic‑specific processes.
• Accesses EHR to communicate with clinical staff and physicians.
