Job summary

Cone Health in Kernersville, NC is seeking a Patient Access Advocate on a PRN basis. As the first point of contact, you will welcome patients and ensure all pre- and post-appointment tasks are completed with accuracy and efficiency.

You will assist with registration, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, post payments, manage referrals, schedule follow-ups, and support front office operations.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred:Medical office training course.
• Preferred: 6 months customer service or medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients through the registration process verifying demographics and insurance information for accurate payment processing and billing.
• Follows established protocols for collecting and posting co-pays and reviewing records for bad debt.
• Maintains accurate cash drawer and prepares daily deposits and follows office close processes.
• Manages incoming calls, messages, voice mail and email and coordinates follow up.
• Returns referrals and testing appointments; follows scheduling guidelines for the clinic.
• Notifies pre-cert coordinator for pre-certification follow up as needed.
• Creates a positive guest experience through adherence to Steps of Service protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
