Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to handle patient inquiries by phone, in person, or via secure messaging. The role involves scheduling, registration, data verification, and assisting with insurance coordination and financial education.

You will document all interactions in the EMR and ensure HIPAA compliance. This is a full-time position across multiple Salt Lake City locations.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients by phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Schedules appointments, manages registrations, and handles patient intake and care needs.
• Verifies demographic data and insurance information in the registration system.
• Assists with insurance coordination of benefits and pre-certification when needed.
• Collects payments and educates patients about financial assistance.
• Documents all interactions in the EMR accurately and completely.
